Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council has made a mess of running Bedworth Civic Hall for many years. The venue has been mismanaged and there is no viable option for the council to continue to run it give cuts to council funding. In run up to 2021 and 2022 local elections Conservatives lied about their plans for the venue (and quickly revise the borough plan). As a result they took every council seat in Bedworth but now the truth is coming out very slowly. They had no intention of saving the existing venue and the planned replacement is commercially unviable.

The conservatives have robbed the community of the opertunity to investigate the possibility of starting a community interest company or charity to save the venue over the last 18 months. I do not know if it is still possible to save the Civic Hall but we should give the community operational and financial information so that they can give it a try.

I am going to try and get as much information as possible.

The council has refused to supply minutes of the “cross party” working group which is not cross party.

I have managed to get a low resolution copy of the crazy regeneration project  that would never be viable.

We had the deputy leader of NBBC on the radio the morning after the full council meeting
